Our Story Through Time
From a simple idea in 2019 to helping thousands understand inflation's real impact on their financial futures
The Beginning: A Personal Awakening
claroventia started when our founder, Marcus Thornfield, watched his grandmother struggle to understand why her pension wasn't stretching as far as it used to. She'd saved diligently for decades, but inflation was quietly eroding her purchasing power year after year.
That conversation in her kitchen became the spark. We realized that most people—regardless of their education level—didn't truly grasp how inflation works in practical terms. They understood prices go up, but not the deeper mechanisms or long-term implications for their financial security.
Foundation Milestones
- Established our first educational framework based on real family experiences
- Partnered with economics professors from three UK universities
- Developed our signature "Kitchen Table Economics" approach
- Created initial content library with 15 foundational modules
Growth Through Crisis: Learning from Reality
The significant inflation spike of 2022 became an unexpected teacher for all of us. Suddenly, our educational content wasn't theoretical anymore—families were living these economic principles in real time. Energy bills soared, grocery costs jumped, and people needed answers immediately.
We pivoted quickly, creating emergency response materials and hosting weekly community sessions. Our team worked around the clock to provide practical guidance during those uncertain months. The experience taught us that education needs to be both proactive and reactive.
Expansion Achievements
- Supported over 12,000 families during the 2022 inflation crisis
- Launched our mobile learning platform for on-the-go education

Priya joined us during this pivotal period, bringing her background in adult education and her ability to explain complex economic concepts in everyday language.
Looking Forward: Building Financial Resilience
Today, we're more committed than ever to our mission of inflation education. The economic landscape keeps evolving, and we've learned that staying ahead means constantly adapting our teaching methods and expanding our reach.
Our focus has shifted toward building long-term financial resilience in communities. Rather than just explaining what inflation is, we're helping people develop the skills and mindset to navigate whatever economic changes come next. It's about empowerment through understanding.
